Here's a list of our church ministries and how we serve our community.
Ministry of Helps
Pastoral Care
This ministry provides care and support for those members in our church family who are experiencing various needs and trying circumstances in life through prayer, bereavement care, home visits, and benevolent support, as deemed necessary.

New Member Ministry
This ministry provides support, information and assistance to all new members as they transition into the church body and into ministry participation. Their responsibility is to also keep in contact with all members.

Emergency Response Team
The ERT ministry is comprised of members in the medical profession who work to provide effective and expedient care to anyone who has a medical emergency while on church premises.

Good Shepherds Ministry
This ministry serves and supports the personal needs of our Pastor’s.
Health and Wellness
This ministry provides health education and outreach through health fairs, seminars and additional support services to the congregation, as well as the community.
Hospitality Ministry
This ministry extends a warm, friendly, helping hand to visitors, friends, and members. The individuals in this ministry are dedicated to the comfort of worshippers on any and all occasions.
Mission Ministry
This ministry conducts outreach activities to serve the community, sick and elderly, and those that are in need.
Nurses Ministry: This ministry provides comfort and care to the Pastor and others in need during church service. It works with the ERT ministry as needed.
Prayer Ministry
This ministry prays for all who request prayer. Everyone is invited to participate in its Hour of Power Prayer services on Tuesday evenings at 6:00 p.m., and Wednesday afternoons at 12:00 p.m.
Usher Ministry
This ministry assists in maintaining an orderly atmosphere in the church. In addition, ushers assist with seating, monitoring and managing the flow of traffic at entrances and exits.
Adult
Sista 2 Sista
A ministry for women to empower, support, encourage and provide spiritual growth opportunities for each other. This is done in the form of workshops, seminars, retreats and monthly gatherings held on the third Thursday of the month.
Partners for Life
This ministry seeks to provide biblical guidance and direction, support and fellowship for married persons and those planning to marry.
Men of Integrity
This ministry provides Christian fellowship, male bonding, mentoring for young men, various activities, and spiritual empowerment for the men of our church to improve their everyday lives.
Senior’s Overcoming All Restrictions (SOAR)
This ministry provides various programs and activities for seniors such as healthy living activities, social outings and educational workshops.

Christian Education Department
This department’s mission is to transform New St. Mark members from membership to discipleship. Spiritual growth classes are offered all year round on Sunday’s at 9:00 a.m. and on Tuesday’s at 7:00 p.m.
Bible Class
This class provides dynamic instruction with focused study of the Bible. Come and learn how to apply biblical principles and scripture to everyday life situations. You will be blessed with a relevant word that will increase your knowledge of the Bible and change your life! Classes are on Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m.
Kingdom Empowerment Hour
All six (6) week classes are relevant to everyday issues facing Christians as we strive to develop spiritually. Classes are held on Sundays at 9:00 a.m.
Youth
Children’s Church
Provides children ages 6 yrs. – 11 yrs. with their own worship service experience on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Sunday at 10:15 a.m.
J.A.M. (Jesus and Me)
This ministry provides nurturing care, social activities and fun fellowships through games, arts and crafts, and more from a Christian perspective. J.A.M. is held each Sunday at 10:15 am on the lower level for pre-schoolers 3-5 yrs. old and infant-toddlers 6 months – 2 ½ years. A certified caregiver is on staff.
IMPACT Youth Church
Provides youth with their own worship service on the 2nd and 3rd Sunday at 10:15 a.m. in the FLC Chapel. It also includes various activities to motivate their minds spiritually, as well as giving them an opportunity to discuss concerns that develop in their lives outside of church. Open Gym is available on the 2nd, 3rd, & 4th Sunday from 12 – 3 p.m.
IMPACT Youth Ministry
This ministry unites teens and preteens by providing Christian fellowship, female and male mentoring, various activities and spiritual empowerment for the youth of our church. For more information, contact the church office at (313) 541-3846.
Communication
Media Ministry
This ministry oversees the audio and technical support of the church and promotes the word of God through sound and visual imagery. It also produces CDs and videos for distribution and social media marketing.
Website Ministry
This ministry manages and maintains the information and graphics that are placed on the church’s website.
Worship Graphics
This ministry works with the Media ministry by developing visual imagery, graphic art and communications to be projected on screen during services. It also develops flyers, postcards, tickets, and brochures to help market and promote the programs, services, and events of the church.
Music & Sacred Arts
Music Ministry
This ministry seeks to praise and worship God through song and instruments, and is composed of the Mass Choir, Male Chorus, and the Praise Team. Rehearsals are on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
Sacred Arts Ministry
The ministries listed below provide an opportunity for Christians to glorify God through the art of dance, mime, and drama.
